Pack 301 ID

Inverted Flow Wrapper with Long Dwell Sealing Head

  • Overview

The Pack 301 ID combines the two proven technologies behind Bosch's inverted and long dwell flow wrappers to create one machine capable of gentle product handling and hermetically sealed seams. The inverted long dwell wrapper features a consistent seal time independent of the machine's product flow. This guarantees an air-tight seal even during ramp up and down periods for extended product shelf life and less waste.

The Pack 301 ID is particularly ideal for the packaging of fresh produce, soft products, pharamaceuticals, multi-packs, meat and dairy, as well as other products that are difficult to handle using a traditional upright flow wrapper or require Modified Atmosphere Packaging (MAP). Long dwell sealing times of up to one second ensure heretically sealed packages.

The machine's inverted film path gently transports the product directly onto the film from the former through the cutting head, greatly reducing jams and ensuring superior package appearance. The Pack 301 ID features a modular film backstand that can be located in various positions relative to the infeed and wrapper, allowing users to optimize the film path. The result is reduced film waste.

    Benefits

    • Inverted design feeds film from below the product to securely carry hard to handle product through the wrapper
    • Film backstand can be located in various positions for ideal product trasport and minimal film waste
    • Flexibility to integrate with a variety of infeeds (flighted, lug-less, trough style, belt feeders)
    • Long Dwell sealing times of up to 1 second ensure hermetically sealed packages
    • Seal time independent of machine speed guarantees constant sealing conditions

    Guide to Flow Wrapping

This guide presents the basic principles of horizontal flow wrapping. It is intended to educate users new to flow wrapping as well as help experienced users looking for a quick reference guide. In addition to covering basic operational principles of flow wrapping it also includes common calculations and a troubleshooting section to assist users in initially setting up their wrapper, changing over to new products, or solving problems common in flow wrapper operation.

Product Distribution Conveyors vs. Robotic Feeding

This white paper addresses the selection criteria involved in identifying an optimal feeding solution as part of an integrated packaging line. Many manufacturers face this decision when automating their packaging line to achieve higher outputs or lower costs. This paper will discuss the key considerations that should be kept in mind when making a decision and compare Delta robotics and product distribution conveyors. Both technologies have there place in modern packaging lines. The decision to choose one technology over the other often can often be made after evaluating the suitability of each versus the following three characteristics of the packaging line and product:

    1. Pack Configuration

    2. Product Characteristics

    3. Operating Environment

More information on Product distribution conveyors versus Robotic Feeding solutions you will find in our white paper „Product Distribution Conveyors versus Robotic Feeding“. Feel free to download the white paper via our

  • Application
    Examples

The long dwell sealing head of the Pack 301 ID flow wrapper makes it especially well-suited for fresh, perishable goods packaging under modified atmospher (MAP) conditions as well as products packaged in thicker film like most medical goods.

The Pack 301 ID flow wrapper's inverted design makes it ideal for wrapping multiple pieces per package and for products that are flexible and difficult to transport by pushing. A full range of infeed options such as flighted, lug-less, through style and belt feeders allow users to configure the Pack 301 ID flow wrapper to meet their specific needs.
