Overview
After the extrusion, the product ropes or sheets have to be cooled down to a temperature suitable for further processing (cutting & wrapping, coating…). Therefore, the Cooling Tunnel WTC is tailor-made to suit each product with its specific cooling need. The product ropes/sheets are transported on a multi-level conveying belt system where it is being passed by a continuous flow of cool air.

Multi-level conveyor belt for space reduction
Adjustable belt speed ensuring an optimized residence time in the tunnel
Individual drives and tensioning devices at each level for an adapted compensation of product stretching regarding the cooling of the rope, thus avoiding any loss of shape
Conical shaped roller allowing an accurate centering of the belt
Endless belt system and easy change parts to facilitate maintenance and cleaning
Closed construction, with 80 mm thick insulated outer walls to avoid loss of cooling energy
Cold air flow created by the evaporators, and blown by ventilators along the conveyor belts for an homogeneous cooling on all sides of the product ropes
Humidity catch thanks to the defrosting function of evaporators to facilitate wrapping
Heating battery to gently warm the frozen-cold air to the appropriate cooling temperature and to further dehumidify it
