Bosch Packaging Technology Provides Complete Solutions with One-Stop-Shopping

CHICAGO/STUTTGART - Bosch Packaging Technology, one of the leading suppliers of complete solutions in packaging and processing technology, emphasizes with its exhibition its strategic orientation as a full-range supplier: with its one-stop-shopping concept, the company offers reliable solutions for the entire value-added chain. These solutions optimize the production processes and can reduce the overall operating costs significantly. “As a full-range supplier, Bosch offers not only individual one-stop solutions, we also provide the cost transparency for the whole life cycle of the equipment – so important for investment projects,” explains Friedbert Klefenz, President of Bosch Packaging Technology.

The one-stop-shopping strategy is also a decisive factor in the expansion of the Bosch Packaging Technology portfolio. With the acquisition of the packaging and automation specialist Paal in September, Bosch strengthens its system business and rounds off its range in the area of secondary and multipack packaging.

Bosch at Pack Expo 2008: new and further developments

Bosch's exhibition focus at Pack Expo 2008 is the presentation of modules and system solutions.

Doboy, a Bosch Packaging Technology company, presents the CBSDM Band Sealer for medical applications. The system is suitable for the heat sealing of bags for medical and sterile applications in clean room environments. It provides process validation and registers deviations from set parameters. The CBS DM Band Sealer meets the highest standards for quality and accuracy.

For the pharmaceutical and food industry, Bosch and its company Sigpack Systems present the HxL, a horizontal flow wrapping machine for hermetic packaging in the high speed range. The new sealing technique is supported by sensors which ensure a hermetic seal. The 2-D Matrix Code attached to the packaging provides new possibilities for documentation as it contains a considerably higher information density than conventional barcodes. The 2-D Matrix Code makes the logistics supply chain easier to manage. Protection against counterfeiting of products is also increased.

For the production of confectionery, muesli or cereal bars, Bosch presents the new Contiline Bar Forming System. It provides optimum productivity and operational availability. In the cutting area, Contiline produces bars with unique cross and rectangular cuts. The new fanning system positions the bars in a crosswise direction to prevent items from sticking together. As all removable or adjustable machine parts are equipped with a quick release mechanism, the Contiline#s machine operator does not require any tools. The Contiline is therefore easy to handle and flexible for different applications and/or formats.
