Horizontal Wrapper with Light Automation Capability

Bosch Packaging Technology, Inc.extends its range of horizontal wrapping solutions with a Doboy Stratus wrapper for light automation. The wrapper is equipped with an inline two-belt servo feeder for automated product handling. The horizontal wrapper is suitable for food and confectionery products such as bakery items and chilled or frozen foods.

The Stratus horizontal wrapper with light automation is suitable for small and medium sized companies that want to increase output by changing from manual to automatic infeed. By integrating an inline servo feeder with a flow wrapper, Bosch combines its expertise in product handling and horizontal wrapping with an automated solution that retains the economic benefits of the Stratus.

With a “two-up” crimper head format, the Stratus is capable of handling up to 150 products per minute. The inline two-belt servo feeder separates products and conveys them to the infeed module through a split belt infeed transfer section. A photo eye controls wrapper speed based on product backlog. The accessible infeed module features hinged deck plates to provide convenient, easy cleaning for bakery and other high debris applications.

The Stratus is engineered with a focus on flexibility and uptime. A compact design allows for the mobility and production layout flexibility crucial to small and medium sized companies. An adjustable former eliminates the need for additional formers for different products formats, minimizing downtime during changeover.

“The Stratus is proven technology that has been successful for years,” says Kurt Carpenter, product manager at Bosch. “Now applicable for light automation, smaller operations can increase their output and still retain the value of this versatile, economical machine.”

The Stratus is capable of storing twenty digital recipes, retaining information on bag length, dwell time, film registration, and product position. Processing parameters can be recalled instantly to ensure maximum uptime and reproducible packages.
