Bosch demonstration at the ZDS “Seminar on Chewing Gum & Bubble Gum Technology”
The seminar “Chewing Gum & Bubble Gum Technology”, which was held between 30.06.09 and 02.07.09 by the ZDS (central technical college of the German confectionery industry), was a complete success. More than 20 participants from various companies in the confectionery industry were able to gain theoretical and practical knowledge on the topic of chewing gum in a workshop that lasted two and a half days. Besides trends and developments in the chewing gum industry various production possibilities and a wide range of ingredients were discussed.
The demonstration on the production of filled, sugar-free chewing gum at the company Bosch in Viersen provided specific practical experience. These filled pellets are among the most difficult products to manufacture. Bosch manufactures this filled chewing gum on the following machine line:
- a RopeX extruder for formation of the chewing gum mass (solid bodies, hollow bodies or products with creative fillings are possible with this machine)
- a Bosch BFK filling pump for filling the chewing gum
- the Bosch forming lines BAK 150 and BPK 150 for sizing the chewing gum rope and finally for forming the cushion
- a BCK cooling tunnel for cooling down the filled chewing gum to the packaging temperature
