Company History

The history of Doboy begins more than 100 years ago, in 1856 when a lumber business was started on the banks of the Willow River in western Wisconsin. A water wheel was put to work harnessing the power of the quick flowing river. Later, a gristmill was founded for processing wheat by O.H. Mosher and W.F. McNally and M.H. McNally in 1883. The company became very prosperous by producing its own cereal brand. The bags of cereal were sealed with a band sealer. The sealer kept breaking, so two employees took it upon themselves to build a better sealer. They succeeded – the first Doughboy Band Sealer was sold commercially in 1946. After several name changes and a change in spelling, today, the company is known as Doboy Inc. The horizontal wrapper line was introduced in the early 1970’s, the cartoner line came aboard in  1991. During 2001, the robotic automation product line rounded out Doboy’s full product portfolio. The Doboy packaging machines have won several awards over the years for innovation and safety. On July 1, 2004, Doboy was purchased by Bosch Packaging Technology Company. Doboy is an active member of PMMI, along with several other packaging organizations.
