Bio-decontamination of the isolator chamber is accomplished using the SafeVAP system. The system is a single unit that functions as the H2O2 injection system when integrated with the isolator air handling unit. Self contained and automatic, it only requires intervention to replace bottles of H2O2 as needed.
Bio-decontamination occurs in four phases:
- Preconditioning – preparing the system for H2O2 injection. Heating the system and lowering the system humidity.
- Conditioning – injecting H2O2 at a high rate to quickly achieve decontamination level.
- Bio-decontamination – maintaining H2O2 level to achieve bacterial reduction
- Aeration – removal of peroxide from injection system, chamber air, air handling unit and all system surfaces.
Our system offers the following advantages:
- Ease of use
- 3-Stage vaporization rather than dripping H2O2 onto evaporation plates
- Full integration with the isolator system
- Single point for H2O2 injection, even in large isolator systems
- High injection rates without the risk of condensation
- A non-wet decontamination process
- Better homogeneity of vapor
- Injection points before or after HEPA filters
- Short cycle time
- No peristaltic pumps with tubing that wears quickly
- Reduced complexity
